So, here's our donation link. I can tell you out front that this money will solely be spent on the startup costs and not (despite my partner's obsessions) on hookers and blow. We'll pay our web designer, handle the licensing fees (so we can be a real business ya'll) and set up our equipment so that no one's work is lost. We're writing the specific submission guidelines as I type this, but I noticed a lot of questions about what white people can do to help. First up? Spread the button and the word. Second up, we will want an ever expanding pool of readers. Even though the focus is on protagonists from under-represented groups we want main stream appeal so that those voices don't stay hidden. Editing and publicity and even mentioning us on well traveled blogs? Hot. So is advertising on our site when it is up, and being willing to point us in the right direction for interviews, authors, and independent bookstores willing to carry our products. There is space for everyone here.
ETA: I just realized that someone donated a year of paid LJ time to us. Thank you anonymouse. Your gift is greatly appreciated.
Son of ETA: AAAAAAAAGGHHHHH!!! I promise to be more literate later when I stop flailing.
(Assuming that you meant white folks can help by editing manuscripts (and if I'm wrong, I apologize): when my life calms down a little and I get some deadlines squared away, I'd be happy to help with editing. Also happy to review books, if you'd rather. There's a lot I can do.).
ETA: Resume available upon request, should you choose to ask :)

I will gladly ditto this.
Also, I'm going to post this at my journal and at The Rotund come Monday - the weekend is kind of lower traffic for me.
Independent bookstore local to me I wanted to mention before I forgot: Kards Unlimited.

They already have a fair selection of books by/about PoC, their book selection is what I would call "carefully curated", and in particular I know the owner *loves* YA sf/f -- it's the single biggest section in the store.
Hah! Lies, I say. LIES.
